AT&T Rises 5% on Q2 Beat, Bigger Buyback; Verizon Reports Today
AT&T shares climbed about 5% after the carrier posted second-quarter adjusted earnings of $0.65 per share, beating the $0.59 consensus, on revenue of $31.6 billion, up 2.3% from a year ago. Postpaid phone net additions of 432,000 easily topped the roughly 338,500 analysts had forecast.
Broadband momentum continued, with 646,000 total internet net additions — 367,000 from fiber and 279,000 from fixed wireless. AT&T held its full-year outlook of $2.25 to $2.35 in adjusted EPS and at least $18 billion in free cash flow, while lifting its 2026 share repurchase target to about $10 billion.
