Genius Sports shares climbed as much as 7.14% to $6.75, buoyed by a new Buy rating from Freedom Capital Markets, which cited confidence in the company's betting-data business. The move came even as Wells Fargo trimmed its price target on the stock to $8 from $9.
The mixed analyst signals underscore the market's divided view on Genius Sports heading into its next earnings report, scheduled for August 11, 2026. The sports-data and technology provider, which partners with leagues and sportsbooks on official data and broadcast feeds, carries a market capitalization of roughly $1.59 billion after climbing 3.71% over the past week.
With DraftKings and other betting operators also in expansion mode this summer, Genius Sports' data partnerships remain a bellwether for the broader sports-betting ecosystem tracked alongside GENI and DKNG positions.
