NIO Deliveries Jump 71% in July as ES8 Nears 140,000 Units
NIO delivered 35,934 vehicles in July, a 71% increase from the same month last year and one of the strongest monthly figures in the company's history. The total broke down to 20,008 units from the core NIO brand, 10,155 from ONVO, and 5,771 from FIREFLY, underscoring how quickly the multi-brand strategy has scaled.
Year to date through July, the Chinese automaker has delivered 227,057 vehicles, up 68% year over year, bringing cumulative deliveries since inception to 1,224,649. Company executives signaled this week that the ES8 flagship is approaching its 140,000th delivery, a pace of roughly 10,000 units a month that has been supported by the five-seat configuration introduced on July 10.
The volume matters because NIO has missed annual delivery targets in prior years, and management has framed the current run rate as necessary to avoid a repeat. Investors will look to the August delivery update, due early next month, for confirmation that the pace is holding.
