NIO Shares Hold Near 52-Week Low as Quarterly Losses Persist
NIO shares have traded near their 52-week low of $3.55 as investors continue to focus on the Chinese EV maker's persistent losses despite revenue growth. The stock closed at $3.69, up 0.54% on the day, still well below its 52-week high of $8.02.
NIO reported second-quarter revenue of 32.14 billion yuan alongside a net loss of 721.59 million yuan, a negative 2.25% profit margin. Earnings per share beat the consensus estimate by 0.15 yuan, but the company has yet to turn a sustained profit even as deliveries have grown.
Wall Street's average price target of $6.41 implies significant potential upside from current levels, but the wide gap between that target and where shares are trading reflects continued disagreement among analysts about NIO's path to profitability.
