Spot silver closed the week near $68.92 an ounce, extending a rally that has seen the metal surge nearly 4% in single sessions and clear $65 for the first time since January's record. Investors rotating toward hard assets amid recent bond-market volatility have kept precious metals among the market's most durable performers this month.

Hecla Mining has been a standout beneficiary, up roughly 13.5% from its August 12 close. The company retired the last of its senior notes in April, leaving it with no long-term debt and giving shareholders more direct leverage to silver prices. At $65-plus silver, analysts note the miner's 2026 margin cushion has widened considerably.

Pan American Silver is riding the same wave: the spot price now runs nearly four times its second-quarter silver segment all-in sustaining costs, a spread of about $51 an ounce. With its $2.1 billion acquisition of MAG Silver expected to add reserves and cash flow, CIBC recently lifted its price target on the stock to $88.
