Snap Bets on $2,195 AR Glasses and a New Commercial Chief
Snap Inc. shares rose about 3.9% on Monday, closing near $5.75, as investors continued to weigh the company's pivot toward hardware and artificial intelligence. In mid-September Snap unveiled SPECS Intelligence alongside its SPECS augmented reality glasses, priced at $2,195, backed by partnerships with Salesforce, Amazon Web Services, Nvidia and Verizon.
The company also reshuffled its commercial leadership, promoting EMEA president Ronan Harris to chief commercial officer with responsibility for global advertising sales. Harris takes over following the departure of chief business officer Ajit Mohan. Snap's EMEA business delivered ten consecutive quarters of double-digit revenue growth under his management, including close to 40% growth in the first half of 2026.
The moves follow a second quarter in which revenue reached roughly $1.60 billion against expectations near $1.53 billion, a 19% year-over-year increase, with the per-share loss narrowing to $0.10 from $0.16. The stock has traded between roughly $5.30 and $6.00 in recent weeks as legal and regulatory questions remain unresolved.
