Super Micro Jumps as $65 Billion Sales Forecast Eclipses Revenue Miss

Super Micro Computer reported fiscal fourth-quarter results after the close Tuesday, posting revenue of $11.1 billion, slightly below the $11.55 billion analysts expected, alongside earnings of $1.62 per share that comfortably beat the $0.96 consensus. Gross margins landed in the 15% to 17% range, well above the roughly 8% the company had guided to earlier in the year, helped by a favorable customer and product mix.

The headline number, however, was guidance. Management forecast fiscal 2027 net sales of $65 billion to $72 billion, far above the $52.5 billion Wall Street had penciled in, and guided first-quarter sales to $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion versus an $11.68 billion consensus. The outlook builds on the record backlog the company flagged in July, when it disclosed more than $60 billion in new orders for the quarter.

Shares rose roughly 8.5% in after-hours trading and continued climbing in Wednesday's premarket, as investors looked past the modest revenue miss and focused on the scale of AI server demand implied by the new targets.
