Longevity entrepreneur Bryan Johnson appeared on Fox News' "The Sunday Briefing" with host Peter Doocy on August 8, defending his claim that he has "cloned" himself as a newborn — a project he calls "Baby-Bryan" — as critics raise ethical and legal concerns.
What Johnson said
In the interview, Johnson described a process of resetting his own cells to "age zero." He says the goal is to use the resulting cells to test therapies, inject younger cells back into his body, develop new treatments, and eventually grow organs for transplantation. Doocy pressed him on the ethical and legal debates surrounding human cloning, which Johnson framed as part of his broader Don't Die mission.
The scientific pushback
Scientists have been quick to dispute the framing. On "Fox & Friends," senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel said human cloning is not currently possible, citing the epigenetic complications seen since Dolly the sheep and in primate cloning attempts. Skeptics argue that what Johnson describes appears to be cellular reprogramming — resetting adult cells to a stem-cell-like state — rather than the creation of an actual cloned human, and that calling it a newborn clone is misleading.
The context
Johnson first announced the "Baby-Bryan" claim on July 21. The TV appearance comes during a turbulent stretch: he disclosed an autoimmune gastritis diagnosis earlier this summer, overhauled his Blueprint supplement stack, and publicly wondered in late July whether he had taken his longevity experiment "too far." The Sunday interview suggests he has no plans to slow the more provocative side of the project.
