A Media Platform Run by Scientists

On August 7, David Sinclair, Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School, announced the launch of Lifespan Group LLC and its flagship platform, Lifespan.com. The company bills itself as the first science media platform built by longevity scientists, combining evidence-based journalism, educational resources, and a paid global membership community. It launches alongside Lifespan Magazine, a publication written entirely by working scientists and thought leaders.

Announced on Rogan, Timed to a National Geographic Cover

Sinclair unveiled the venture on The Joe Rogan Experience the same day he appeared in National Geographic's cover story on his work leading the first-ever human clinical trial for longevity — an FDA-cleared partial epigenetic reprogramming trial run through Life Biosciences. The launch builds on his podcast, Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair, which hit #1 in Apple's Health & Fitness category in its first season.

What Members Get

Lifespan runs on a community-first membership model: early access to podcast episodes, full access to the magazine and archives, referenced show notes, AMAs with Sinclair, a book club, and conversations with longevity researchers. The company also supports the Lifespan Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that funds early-career aging researchers. Leadership hires include former YouTube Programs head Kathleen Fitzgerald and Emmy-winning producer Daniel Salazar III, formerly of NASA.

The Skeptics' View

Sinclair remains a polarizing figure in the field. In 2024, criticism from fellow longevity researchers over his claims of age reversal in primates and dogs led him to step down as president of the Academy for Health and Lifespan Research. Skeptics will note the tension in a commercial media company positioning itself as the antidote to longevity hype while being led by a scientist repeatedly accused of overstating results. Supporters counter that scientist-written coverage beats the misinformation that currently dominates consumer longevity content.
